Forcing a format in a SQL query 1

Hi, I know that its possible to force a format into a fields in query, I've just forgotton how to do it.

I remember it being something along the lines of this;

=(format([field])"#,###0.00")

any ideas?

In SQL View pane
SELECT format([field], "#,##0.00")
FROM ...
