Force Roll over line

Is there a way on a 3905 model to force a roll over line to the main line if the main line is not in use?

ie user goes to make an outside hit the roll over line instead of mine line.

Or is it possbile to make the roll over non fuctional unless the main is busy.

however, your system is going to choose it's lines from the bottom of the group and work upwards:

line 1 - main
line 2 - rollover 1
line 3 - rollover 2

since you gave no details i'm making some assumptions but this is generically how it works.

when a user dials 9 to place a call, the system will always choose the first available line starting from line 3 moving up to line 2 if 3 is unavailable, moving to line 1 if line 2 is not available. if all lines are unavailable, you will hear reorder tone (fast busy).

this is intentional.

When you say Main line and rollover line do you mean Key 0 and key 1 or do you mean you have your trunks on the phone?

Terminology means everything if you want the right answer.

Sorry guess I should have better explained.

Key0 is the ACD line
Key1 is there main line (A DID )
KEy 2 is the roll over line

Again what difference does it make what Key they use to make an outgoing call? it still goes out the same way.

Maybe if you could give a reason why you want it to go out Key 1 instead of Key, we could come up with a work around.

We are using a call record program that works in tandem with Nortel's AST licensing. Nortel AST only allow you to mark 2 keys.

Key0 is ACD so it takes 1
Key1 is there did and main line, so we assign it as the other

Key 2 is the rollover. Most do not use this, but it does happen on occasion.
