Force refresh WebI thru SDK

Hi Guys,

My users keep forgetting to refresh the WebIDocumentList, and complain that things aren't working.

Is there a way to force refresh their list from my asp script ?

Why do it via the SDK. Why not have their settings set to refresh it every time they visit.

Is there any way to set that setting through asp code ? Else, I see a javascript function (top.topbar.refresh()) on the wi page. Will it be possible for me to call that function from my script when user logs in ?

You can set it by default for all users on the WebI server. You can do this either by manipulating their profile.txt file or by creating the system defaults. This is clearly documented in the manual.

We have used profile.txt to set a server wide default universe for new WEBI 6.5 users. However this only worked while we had a single Business Objects application. Now a second one is coming on stream requiring a different universe. Is there anyway of setting a default universe for an application rather than for a server?

This request doesn't make sense. A default universe is for a user who is going to do ad-hoc queries.

There is no way to set different defaults for different apps. The profile.txt file is a server-level file, not an application one.
