I'm sure everyone has this issue in your office. Well I can not find any articles on this so I'm going to ask....

Can anyone do a "Forced" auto log off (via GPO, or some other way) I know about the winexit.scr file, but this is not helpful when you want to force a domainwide user account(s) to auto logg off (if you know what I mean)

Tips/tricks/ your solutions would be appreciated!!!

In the user account properties. Configure a logon time restriction. When the time expired the user will be logged off.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark,

Yes, this would be nice if it were one or two uses..... but I'm talking 400-500 accounts. Sorry, but that is not the solution I'm looking for.

You can select multiple accounts at a time to set the logon restirction hours, but if that is not what you are looking for please elaborate.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark, my experience has been that setting logon time restrictions will prevent a user from logging in, but has no effect on a user who remains logged in after their time has expired.

In other words, If I allow users to login between 7am and 6pm, a user who goes home at 5pm and leaves his workstation logged in will still be logged in when he arrives in the morning. However, if that same user worked late, say till 7pm, logged out, and then remembered something he forgot to do - he would be unable to log back in until the following morning.

Am I configuring something wrong? I would love to be able to restrict not only the time of day that someone could be logged in, but also the duration of a session - with the user being forced to log off at the expiration of either limit.

Thanks,

JAFrank

There is an option to allow connections to remail or to force logoff when the expired time arrives.

I hope you find this post helpful.
