Hi there,

Server side EX2003SP1 on W2K3, all client OL2003SP1 on WXPSP2 without login to domain.

Now each user can set their own preference whether to send "read receipt" or not.

1. can I set from server side that all users must send "read receipt" upon requested?

2. if item 1 ok, can I prevent all users to change this settings?

Many thanks!

I'm kinda in the same boat. With Outlook 2000 if a read receipt was requested, user's had to click it. With Outlook 2003, a read receipt can be canceled ( a choice).

I had the same issue. Basically one of our execs wanted to change the setting to "always send a receipt" and lock it down...Can be done using GP...Have to download the outlk11.adm...In it, you will find the outlook 2003 settings and you can change it and lock it down there.

Hi there,

For my case there is some ticky problem that all clients did not join domain, all are stand-alone wxp clients. So I can't play with GP, right? Any other tircks then?

Thanks in advance for your help!

You can create a custom installation by using the Custom Installation Wizard which is part of the Office 2003 resource kit. It creates a mst file which you then apply using the setup.exe when installing office or outlook.

thx 7139, however as all clients had been deployed, except from reinstalling, any other tricks? many thanks!

No, I looked everywhere for a registry fix...Besides the only way to lock it down so a user can't come back in and change it to "never send a response" is to use GP.
