We have an customer who is using Follow me in a Special way.
Every extension has also a shortcode to dial the users cell phone. Also every extension has a dummy user.

For example:

User digital phone: 283.
User Dummy number: 6175.
User short code 4175.

On the digital phone we have a button with follow me to the dummy number. The dummy number has a forward unconditional to the shortcode.
The user can make a forward easy with just one button and also has the good things of follow me.

The problem is that when I dial 6175 and 4175 the cell phone is ringing and everything is goinig well. When I press the button so I set follow me that it's goining wrong. When you dial the users digital phone you are goining to the voicemail.

The customer wants to use follow me but that isn't possible to external numbers. That's the reason that we have programmed it this way.

Does anyone have an idea to solve this or how I can program this?.

We are using version 4.1(15) on an IP406

This might be the reason why they sell the mobility licenses, I would guess that they restricted the use for this so that they actually sell the licenses instead of having someone create shortcodes and follow me procedures.
I have not tried it with follow but the forwarding feature works.
Hope I don't sound like a smart Youknowwhat

If you can't be good, be good at it!

Maybe I am missing something, but why aren't you just using a call forward all button on the user phone with the forwarding number in it?

They want to use the users coverage, forwarding and voicemail settings. When you use Forwarding than you doný have all that.

Basically, when it comes to trying to avoid paying for a licence Avaya are much smarter than us and have already thought of the workarounds.

I'm slow, I don't get what you are trying to do. Could you explain what you want to happen? What does this set up that you have give you. Using follow me for forwarding to cell hasn't worked since 3.0 I think. I had customers that used it in 2.1 then at some point long before 3.2 it stopped working. Are you saying you get call coverage and forwarding at the same time with this setup. Avaya makes you buy a twinning license to get that now.

I'll admit it, I'm confused.

You can not follow me external
Follow me is internal and forward is external
That is the way it works
