We have recently created a win2k server to handle our file sharing instead of novell.
In Novell depending on if you were allowed you "see" folders or not or files for that matter.
I have a requirement to do the following.
3 groups, in one folder structure.
customer. -he can see and log into the share and use and SEE some directories but not all. Those that he can see should be r/w.
staff. -he can see ALL directories and r/w some and r/o others.
developers - he can see ALL directories and r/w all.
we will call this L: drive.
for example:
L Drive: under L are the following
customer_folder
work_folder
reference_folder
customer
sees
customer_folder (r/w)
staff
sees
customer_folder (r/w)
work_folder (r/w)
reference_folder (r/o)
developer
sees
customer_folder (r/w)
work_folder (r/w)
reference_folder (r/w)
Any advice on accomplishing this I have tangled up the share and permissions so badly I am restarting.
Thank you for your help.
