Folder redirection

Does anyone has experience with the redirection of the start menu?

I would like to manage my start menu for all users on a central location, but Microsoft doesn't really encourage this. I'm not sure why not, so I would like some more explaining before I implement this.

It's easy just use C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu.

you have two possibilities:
1. use GP to redirect a part of the User's profile.
2. but the best is : use Roaming profiles.(profile)

wbg34, I'm sorry, but I meant a central location on a server, not on the client itself.

VictorKozlov, I'm using roaming profiles for the moment, but would like a start menu that is the same for everyone and maintained on a central location on the network. I know where in the GPO I have to set this, but I'm a little worried about the possible consequences and wondering if there was anyone that already tried this.

Yes, I have such an experience. There is no problems. Except additional traffic that is connected with profile downloading. If THAT profiles are NOT mandatory, they will grow up always. So there will be time when you will be forcible to use some methods to clean them.
I can give some advices:
1. use mandatory profiles.
2. than LESS a user will be able to save something in his/her profile that better for you. Beleve me, your life will be nuch easer.
