floppy drive trouble...

my floppy drive was working, then it suddenly stopped. The cables are in correctly. I had a boot disk in it, then it spit out disk I/O error, and it hasnt worked since. I think it stopped working when i started installing windows 2000. It doesnt show up in "my computer" either.
 
Activate seek on boot to see if the drive is selecting and seeking. During post you should see lite and hear seek.
Verify that FDD controller is active in bios.
May very well be a drive gone bad. Ed Fair
