*FLASHING* Task Bar Alerts - OFF????

They do not frown on message software here at work as long as it's not abused and I use AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) under Windows XP Pro as I can chat a bit with my son when he returns home from school without the interuptions of a phone call. I 'hide' my task bar to save window space but when he sends a chat message the task bar pops up, the AIM chat window button constantly flashes bright ORANGE and it's distracting (not to say that's it's not too business-like having that happen when reviewing something on my screen with a co-worker or supervisor).

Is there any way to prevent an application from highlighting when active in the task bar or even prevent it from displaying in the task bar at all? Or at the very least, how can you change the color of the alerting buttons in the task bar so it's not the bright ORANGE? I have Tweak UI installed and have it checked to FLASH TASKBAR BUTTON 1 TIMES but the AIM button constantly flashes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yahoo on Wednesday began blocking Cerulean Studios' Trillian software from communicating with its instant messaging service in its latest step to fence its popular client from third-party integrators.

Beginning at about 6 p.m. Wednesday, Yahoo changed its instant messaging language to prevent third-party services, such as Trillian, from accessing its service. Like previous statements, the company said the block is meant as a pre-emptive measure against spammers from its Yahoo Messenger service.

Was wondering why I couldn't connect to my Yahoo account thru Trillian but now I know.... that kind of sucks!

Oh well... glad I didn't buy the pro version.

You have to keep reading. I thought I told you to read the Trillian FAQs and forum section?

The simple fact of the matter is that IM is becoming a corporate user fact of life. And none of the big players want to give up their proprietary IM protocals. But they have been talking, and I suspect a resolution early next year.

Control Panel, Accessibilty Options, "Use High Contrast" is *NOT* checked. Thought we had something there for a second... :O(

Half the problem might be that "Phlyx" is such a colorful person, the other half might be AOL programming.
