This issue is not ringing a bell with me.

A new customer called in with system issues following a power event. Of course, he is new to the phone switch, does not have passwords, does not know anything about the system, doesn't know remote access number, ...etc. You get the picture.

I am assuming he is an R5 or so DEFINITY SCC with 2 cabinets. So far, we've had to ship a replacement TN754 but he did not advise earlier that he had multiples of them so some folks are still OOS.

He now claims the LED on the power supply is flashing green. I do not recall seeing that. I'm wondering if he has a UPS and thinks it is the power supply?

Any idea what flashing green on an SCC power supply might mean? I'm assuming it is not good.

Thanks.

There are several types of power units for SCC
WP91153 L3, WP91153 L3A, WP91153 L4-25, WP91153 L4A-25,
1217A, 1217B

You should be looking for red lights for problems.
what number is on the processor board?

it could possibly mean that the power supply is charging the holdover battery at the top of the cabinet above the circuit card area. the power supply takes between 24-30 hours to charge that holdover battery. when did your customer have a loss of power?

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the prompt response.

After some more conversation, we decided that the flashing light is on the power supply, it is green and it says "Battery OK". There is an amber light on the same power supply that says "Power OK".

The client sent a fuzzy cell phone picture to prove it. They still have not told me the part number even though I've asked for it a couple of times.

I have not found any documentation that shows an SCC power supply with 2 LEDs on it much less a description of what it means. I think I have seen some but it was long ago. PBXTech, I think your assessment is probably correct that the battery is charging.

I guess since nothing seems to be out of order other than 2 more TN754's, I'm going to let the flashing LED go and move on to other projects.

Thanks again.
