I have a CICS upgraded to 7.1 and a STARTALK FLASH2 NT5B07AB2455 with Feature Card NT5B78EC rel 02 VM 2.0, that is being reinstalled for a client. When I first powered up the systems everything appeared to work. I first upgraded the CICS from 4.1 ver 30NFG00 NAT to 7.1 ver 30HDC12 NAT. So far the CICS works fine. I tried the Flash2 and it was working, also on the CICS with 7.1. So, I am ready to configure the Flash2. I reset it to default per documentation, all the proper prompts are displayed, so I figured it was ready for initializing, but the day was over, and I would do the new configuration on Tuesday. So I get there today, and do F983 and is says "feature inactive". Every F98x code I tried gave me "feature inactive". Now, when I call the DN 35 of the connected port, the Flash2 answers with a log prompt, but since there is no config or init, it won't go anywhere! Is there something about the Flash2 that is not compatible with the CICS 7.1? Is there a different sequence I need to try to get the CICS to recognize the Flash2 or is the unit dead? I am planning to bring a dumb terminal with me on Wednesday to see what comes from the serial port.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the thread! That one did not show up when I was searching the forum. I shall try that when I get to the job site.

That thread reference worked perfectly, and the default F98x codes work fine now, since the Flash is initialized. Thanks for your help...
