flash plugin

Hi everybody, I only got dreamweaver yesterday and I wanted to play a .swf file on one of my pages but I keep getting the error message "unable to find plugin that handles that media type" eh...
I have flash installed so whats the problem ? Can somebody help I dont have much time please...
