Flash Help for novice

Hi All

I have been given the task by my boss to create a flash intro for our company intranet, and to spruce up our Html intranet by adding some flash elements to the site, only one problem is I have never used Macromedia Flash MX or any other Flash program. I have asked my boss to get an external company to do this for us but they have said no as they do not want to spend any more money on the Intranet, I have Flash MX version 6.0. Could anyone give me any help or any templates that I could modify to suit myself, actually anything would be appreciated.

To learn flash i'd start by going through the tutorials offered by flash itself (Help-Tutorials) which will teach you the basics of animation, movieclips, buttons,...

if you have got that you could go on with the easier ones of flashkit:
