Fixing tab nuisance in Enterprise Manager

This is petty, but it drives me crazy.

When I use Enterprise Manager (SQL 2000) to open a set of records and then click to view the SQL pane, there are tabs instead of spaces in the query.

So if I then copy this over to SQL Query Analyzer, I have to clean it up.

Is there a way have SQL Enterprise use spaces instead of tabs?

Not to my knowledge. If someone knows better I would appreciate knowing how to fix this as well.

You can however customize the mmc exe that Enterprise manager uses by locating it in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\SQL Server Enterprise Manager.MSC (default location) right click on it and choose Author. When opened this way you can now go to file >> add/remove snap in.. >> click on the add button and choose additional modules to add to the mmc. When finished click OK and then File >> Save As, choose a name different then the original file name and you can then use this mmc as your new enterprise manager.exe

Okay, you lost me here. Like what kind of modules can you add?

An example of a module to add would be Data Sources, Services and Performance Monitor (both of which can be found in Windows >> Administrative Tools). These are all just snapins (so is Enterprise Manager) to the Microsoft Management Console (mmc.exe).

So instead of opening up another instance of mmc.exe you could have them all in Enterprise Manager's instance of mmc.exe.

There's a show/hide SQL pane button. It's the fourth from the right. It has SQL in black letters. Is that what you are looking for?

I might be missing something here but:

Click on the desired database, then tables, right click on the desired table, open table, query. Click on the fourth icon on the tool bar. It has SQL in black letters. It will open a box in the center of the pane that allows free form SQL statements. Clicking it a second time closes it. After you have opened a table this way any other table in that database can also be worked on from there.
