Hi!

Does anybody know where can I download fixed-width true type fonts that should look-like and printout space should equal to MS DOS fonts' printout (True type fonts 100% compatible with DOS fonts)?

I used DOS foxpro 2.6 to develop some programs. Now, I need run these programs under DOS version Foxpro 2.6 and Windows version Visual Foxpro 7.0 for different workstations. Both kinds of workstation’s printout should be the same in order to match invoice form. (Same space between two lines) Please tell me the Fonts name and website that I can download. Thanks in advance.

The only thing close that I've found is FoxPrint, which is a TTF that MS supplied with FoxPro for Windows. The way I read the "fine print", legally you can only distribute it if you are a licensed owner of FPW. While it isn't "exactly" like the MS DOS font, it does have the line drawing characters, etc.

Thanks! Rick,

Can you email me Foxprint.ttf, Foxprint.fot and Foxprint.fon files? It is very important for me and used for internal test. My email address: protran@yahoo.com. Thanks.

"Courier New" is fixed width

Ed Please let me know if the suggestion(s) I provide are helpful to you.

Andy,
As I said, my license for FPW doesn't allow me to send it to you, unless I'm installing an application on your system - I can't just give away an MS copyrighted file. You'll have to buy FPW or find another source for a similar font. (I'm sure that if you'd sold me a product, and I just made copies and gave them away to whoever asked for them, you wouldn't view me as very reputable!)

Thanks Rick and ED,

I downloaded Foxprint.ttf from Website. But it is not the same as DOS fonts. When I printed report on the printer. The space between two lines is bigger than DOS fonts' printout. "Courier New" is the same situation like Foxprint.ttf. I found a number of fonts, all printouts spaces are bigger than DOS fonts. The fonts' width are ok. But line and line's distance is different. If you have other suggestion, please let me know. Thanks

Does anybody can help me to find the right fonts? Thanks!

Here's a different solution: Take a look at WinPrint ( .. free demo available ) It enables you to produce a text file and adjust the line spacing so that you can print FoxPro Dos REPORT TO FILE output in Windows.

It also includes the ability to go to specific positions on the paper (measured from Top Left corner of paper or top left margin), which should be great for filling out forms.

The one thing it doesn't necessarily do is you can't change the spacing of fonts (the space between characters) to adjust for an Exact CPI (though it can pick a font size to achieve at least 10,12 or 17 cpi). Changing this spacing may be available in a future version if there is demand.
