Fit Box to Text Manually

Can someone please describe how I would make a text box fit the the text within it, manually, without an extension? I would like to try to automate this myself, somehow using either the number of lines of text and adjusting the height coordinate, without dragging the text box boundaries.

Thanks in advance for anyone that can help with this one.
