I've created a new column in a query which tells me the time difference in hours between the [date raised] field and now(). Is there a way to get a message to pop up when the value reaches 1 hour? AND if there is can i get it to pop up even if Access is not open at the time?

Hallo,

For a single record, you can set the forms TimerInterval property to the delay required, and set the OnTimer event to Display the message you want.

If you want multiple records then you need to write a bit more code to run on the OnTimer Event of a form to check which messages are overdue and raise popups for them. The TimerInterval should be something suitable, such as 1 minute, or whatever is appropriate.

I'm afraid they will both only work when Access is running. You could create a small Access Application to just do this monitoring and have it running all the time, rather than having the whole application always running.

Thanks Frink

My boss is really pleased with me! :)

Hallo,

Good. My boss is a bit gutted that I spend all my time answering other peoples Access questions instead of doing my own work. Still it's good to help people (and earn the odd
