Hi,

I have a LAN with a nt4 server.

Thanks,

A firewall is a crucial piece in a LAN enviroment, therefore its also very crucial to get a good and dependable company to protect yours. Now with that said you could go with Checkpoint, excellent firewall but very pricy, so depending on your needs and budget this might be your answer. If that is too high or doenst seem to provide you with your needs then you could go with Sonicwall, they are a security company on the rise and have an excellent product. Sonicwall aims more towards the Small / Mid business whereas Checkpoint targets MID / Large Business. It also depends on what your needs are for that fireall, do you need NAT capability?, do you need VPN throguh firewall ?, some of the questions your must ask your self before purchasing a firewall. Also i would not recommened putting a firewall on a server box, the firewall can block access but if the server becomes compromised then you will have compromised your enviroment.
