Firebox 3 700 ignoring password

We're trying to update our Firebox III 700 after changing the IP address range of the company LAN, but it keeps saying that the password is wrong (or locked..). We have used the red cable to change the passwords but the box just doesn't seem to care. It displays all the info but gives the error when we try to configure it.

Any thoughts? It's running version 7.2 software.

Hi there! Yes, we can log on to the control centre using the read/write password. When we try to open the policy manager using the same password it won't connect and gives the password or locked user message....
 
Found a fairly reliable way of getting the read/write password to be accepted, though it is very obscure! Can give further details if anybody else has a similar problem, otherwise too complicated (and tedious) to describe. :) Cheers, ..julian..
