Hello

I have a file that contains about 8300 listed words.. It's not really a list, but each word is written in other line. I believe that there are many words mentioned more than once.. Is there anyway I can delete the repeated words so I can have each word mention only once?

Thanks in advance,
Louie.

To sort your words into order, select Table > Sort from the Menu. It should default correctly so just select OK from the Dialog.

To then remove duplicates, Select Edit > Replace from the Menu. Click on "More" if need be than check "Use Wildcards". In the "Find what" box enter "(<*^13)@" (without the quotes - that's left parenthesis, left angle bracket (less than sign), asterisk, caret, one, three, right parenthesis, at sign). In the "Replace with" box enter "\1" (without the quotes - that's backslash, one). Hit "Replace All".

Enjoy,
Tony

Thanks a lot that was really helpful! As I expected, the words number dropped from 8402 to 4190. There was a confusion were two familiar files were mixed together, that's what caused the repetition. Thanks again!
