I am using Server 2003 as a my DC and I am looking to find out if a user was logged into the system ona specific date. I know the computer ID and IP address, but I can not find anything that tells me if the user was logged on on that date.

I did. But it only goes back two weeks...the event I am looking for happened on the 14th. Is the security event viewer the only way to look?

have you looked on that specific pc's event log ....just a thought!!!!

Stand up wherever you are, go to the nearest window and yell as loud as you can, 'I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore.'

I can...but I was hoping AD would have an easy way to do it so we do not tip off the user.

Connect to the users computer remotely. If you and the user have either XP or 2000, just open "computer management" under administrative tools and then connect to his/her computer. You can view their event logs this way.
