Using C# (FileInfo or any other class) is there as way to find out who is the user that accessed or updated the or copied the file to destination location.
We have certain folders where we process files based upon separate set of rule. So some time someone is dropping the file in the wrong directory and it causes the process crash so I would like to find out who copied the file to this location or who is the user who updated last.
Help is highly appreciated friends !!!

you might just be able to right click on the file, go to Properties, select the permissions tab, click the advanced button and see who the owner is.

This is using Win2KPro.

If this gets what you are looking for, then you might want to look into System.Security namespace.

Pretty sure this feature is available on the server versions of Windows if you turn auditing on. Of course, you'll need lots of spare disk space if you do that...
