obviously I'm talking about after hours, I know how to find out when a switch goes down during normal hours....You got 8 people standing at your desk asking questions.

Is there a way to find out when a switch was rebooted or restarted because of a loss of power (while no one is at the office). Or to find out switch up time? Just curious we have a lot of remote switches that "mysteriously" go down, and if we could find out if it was due to a power issue that would be helpful.

Do a "disp initcauses" and you"ll find the information you're looking for.

CDR will also generate a time stamp of shutdown and startup time if have CRD enabled .

You can also add a "rs-alert" button on the phone. This button will light if the system resets. You just press it to make it go out. -CL

If you use dsa and want to know right away you can set it up on a constantly running machine and set it to send alarm emails then if you have an email compatable pager you can have all alarms sent to you when they occure... José
