Hi All,

I have a text column (length 20) that I would like to query and identify any records that have a non alphanumeric character anywhere in the string. (e.g. /-'" etc)

Is there a way in access of doing this?

Many thanks in advance.

Michael

A starting point:
Like '*[!0-9A-Z]*'

Hope This Helps, PH.

Hi PH,

Spot on, thanks so much, did the trick perfectly. A star thingy for you.

A step further, if I wanted to clean(i.e. remove the non aplhanumerics) from the string, could this be done via a query?

Many thanks

Michael

You'll have to write your own function, I'm afraid.
