Hello,

Could anyone help me.. I would like to find out the ip address of my hosting (they wont give me the IP) but I have been having trouble with DNS (which is another story)

I would like to determin the ip adress of my hosting - how would I do this in CF.

I have tried CGI variables and they are no help - they either give me my domain - or it's the IP of my machine!

Is this something that could be found out?

Help please

Mark

You'll need to be a little more explicit on how your server is set up. ie. Do you have a dedicated ip? Are you behind a firewall.. etc.

But, take a look at this service - it may be what you are looking for.

Nope...

I just want to evaluate the ip address my CF websapce is sat on!

If they wont give you the IP, then finding it out another way is not going to help. Whether you know the IP and hostnames or not does not mean they are allowing them to be usefull from your point of view.

what is the problem that is driving this? time to find a new host maybe?

finding an Ip / hostname is very simple, but like i said, you cant do much with it if they dont want you too, and it looks like they dont want you too.
