When ever I open up my form "work order" Without using the switchboard my "find" button works just fine. I'm able to look up any record. But when I open up my form thru the switchboard I keep on getting an error message that says "You can't use Find or Replace now". Can anybody please tell me how to get it to work? Thanks

Check the switchboard code that opens the form. It perhaps is passing a parameter to the form that isn't present when you open the form independently. It's also possible the switchboard is somehow messing with the data source for your form. Generally this is caused by opening a query that locks the underlying tables.

I don't know anything about VB so I can't check the code. Should I delete the switchboard and create another one?

Sure, you can try that or you can post the code to this thread and see if someone can spot the problem.

Thanks. I'll try posting it. I deleted the command button and well as the query and its still not working.

I found the problem Uncle Jack. When I created the switchboard I chose the form to be "open form add mode". But when I switched it to "open form edit mode" my find command button finally worked.
