Filling in open text

I want to fill in a typeface (Academy open). I want the outline to be one colour and the inside to be filled in another colour. Any ideas how I can do this? I am using Corel Draw 12.

hi , i want to know , how to join the nodes if i have a ractangle and a line ,,i want to add a line in between the ractangle so that lne may get join in between the ratangle will be divivded , then i can get two ractangles, in one

Sally: In all versions of CorelDraw, you assign a fill colour to an object by selecting the object and clicking on a colour in the colour palette. You can assign an outline colour by shift-clicking the same colour palette.

If the colour palette isn't shown, look in the Window menu for Colour Palettes and tick one or more of them, eg "Default CMYK palette" -- though the menus do vary from version to version, so you may see something different here.

Alternatively, try F12 (or the "pen" tool from the toolbar) to assign the outline properties. This is probably better because you can set the outline width and other related properties here as well as just the colour.

If I understand correctly, this is a font with 'open space' in the letters. If so, then copy/paste (so you can easily go back to live text) and edit the copy like this:
convert to outlines, then break apart. This should separate the 'open' areas in the text and then you can color them
