Filling forms with tables vs queries?

I know this may sound like a silly question but if I knew the answer I wouldn't be asking so here it goes. I created a split database and since all the tables are in the back end of the project does it matter if I'm filling my list boxes/combo boxes with tables? I ask because if the queries are located on the front end don't they still have to pull in the information from the tables across the network?

Generally speaking you'll see some performance using queries instead of tables because (as long as you're not including all the table fields in your query) a query recordset is smaller than an entire table's dataset. And since Access passes entire recordsets, the smaller the recordset the better. So in that regard you will have somewhat of a performance increase.
