I have a report that is basically an attendance sheet grouped by department. After each group I would like to fill-in the rest of the page with blank lines without adding an extra page in between groups. My problem is that the number of blank lines will always be different depending on how many entries are in each group.

This is how I attempted it: In the group footer I inserted approx. 20 lines. To get rid of the excess lines that carried over to the next page, in the section expert for group footer I chose "reset page number after" and I suppressed "page number = total page count". This got rid of the excess lines I didn't need on the next page, but it now repeats the first page of every group twice.

I don't understand how blank lines differ from using a New Page After at the Dept group footer level?

Both will have blank lines on the remainder of the page after a group.

If you don't want the last page blank, use the X-2 formula for the new page after and place not(onlastrecord)

Give each blank line it's own (sub) section and then you can suppress the appropriate number of lines based on the number of records that will print for that group. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
