my windows 2000 server hang. there was no response when i pressed ctrl+alt+del so i resorted to pressing the restart button.
when i started it went into a scandisk kind of disk management tool and said it fixed some portions of the partition.
when i view a certain folder it was all gone including the files in it. then a dir000.chk directory was created with one of the missing files in it. but only 1 file was recovered and the others were not.
what could be causing this? is this that stupid disk tool? if i would stop that tool when an improper shutdown there could be more problem!
any ideas?
