Hi! I am fairly new with arcserve 2000 built in 1200 ver 7 and I did a full backup yesterday ,I chk it and everything is fine and went well now I need to restore only one file , fact is when I go to restore , I choose by session or even by tree I see my whole directory wich is my D drive but if I click on the little + sign nothing append I dont want the whole drive All I need is a word document on the D drive ?? How should I go about that Should I restore everything and the pick up my file or there is an option ( wich I dont see ) that allowe me to choose exactly what I want ?

Thanks guys

I did in computer name I enter my server then in file name i enter the name of the file Im looking for then i click on query but nothing appened i see breifly a search box but it did not find anything , and i know the file is there cause if i do a full restore then i can see it , buts it take a long time ... how should i do that?
thanks !!!

Sounds like a problem with database corruption. Quick fix is to initialize the database and then merge in the tape. Long route is to repair the database and then merge.

By the way a filter can be used to restore just the file you want. It will not be much quicker but at least you don't have to contend with all the extra files.
