Filer F720 not configuring the tape connected to it.

I have a F720 filer to which i have connected a Single Ended Tape drive. I am not sure if the filer can communicate with only HVD (High Voltage Differential) drives. The problem is the filer does not configure the tape drive connected to it. Or as a matter of fact, even a SCSI drive is not configured by F720.
Any suggestions are welcome.
