Hi there!
I have problem with xpress and hope you can help me in someway. I saved a xpress 6 file yesterday (1.5 MB) normally - nothing special and tried to open it today. But xpress will Force Quit. Its the second time in week that this happend and i have no idea why. What can i try to do?

My experience with files quitting upon first opening have mostly been related to corrupt font. Try deactivating your fonts and see if file will open.

If that doesn't work try a trick I have used (although in Quark 4) is this:

Open Quark

Get the colours pallette on screen and open it up so it covers the whole screen

Open your document using File->Open

If it opens then you can bet that the rendering of an element in your document is causing the crash. By covering the whole screen with a pallete you stop Quark having to draw the element.

Now the fun bit...

Close the pallette up a little. Did Quark crash?
Depending on the complexity of your document you may want to copy the elements you can now see and put them on another document.

Rinse and repeat.

It's a really dirty solution, but it has got me out of a hole on more than one occassion.
