Ok i know this was a stupid thing to do but here goes, my computer needed to be restored to its factory settings and i decided to backup my c: on my portable hd. I forgot to backup my favorites. Once the computer is restored and the files copied back across i deleted the files that the computer would ahve anyway.
So i then realsied after deleting them that i had no favorites and hoped that they would be stored under internet explorer folder in my backup.... but of course i had deleted it. :( (yes i know i am a fool)
It is not in the recycl bin and the recoverer that comes with norton anti-virus 2003 does not seem to find anythuing that it could recover.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as my list of precious favorites have taken years of surfing to accumilate.
thanks in advance

By the way sorry if this is an appopriate forum to post this in but i couldent think of any other one if i am wrong (sorry admins) then feel free to point me in the right direction.

This is the Windows 3.1 forum. If you backed up "C" to another hard drive then everything that was on "C" should be backed up--including your favorites. C:Windows/Favorites

Try posting in the operating system forum you are using.

As far as I know the "recycle bin" that you mentioned wasn't part of Win 3.

As ANFPS26 mentioned, if you did backup the entire drive, then the favorites would be listed in the \\WINDOWS\FAVORITES folder and not the IE one.
