Does anyone know how I can set up a "FILE" port? I'm running Windows 2000 Pro and there is no "FILE" choice. I need to print to file.
Thanks, but I tried the solution in the thread you suggested and it still won't work for me. When I set up a "Local Port" it asks for a printer driver. I tried choosing "generic" and then I tried using an HP5000PS printer driver but none of them worked for Print to File.
Anyone else have any ideas how I can set up a FILE - print to file port in Windows 2000 Pro???

File is one of the local port assignments.
If not:
. either you are not the local Administrator for the print server computer you are trying to modify; you essentially have "Power User" priviliges, which restricts you to only Plug and Play rights to assignemnts;
. or, the printer driver should be redone. There is an issue with the printer driver.
Note: this is a NEW printer assignment, leave the existing assignment alone.
