File / Open will only show large thumb nails! Potoshop 6 1

I can not for the life of me find out WHERE to tell Photoshop 6 to open in the "detail" view NOT the "large thumb nail" view that it insists on. Opening in the large thumb nail view takes FOREVER because of the large file sizes I use.

You help will be most appreciated!

when you go to the open popup right click on some blanc space and you will get some optins.

One of these is the view setting.

Dr. Manic, You are correct about the right click in the open space; however the change selected will not "stay", at the next "open" it reverts back to the previous view. i.e., if your previous view was small thumb nails and you right click and select detail..... the next time you choose open it will revert back to thumb nail..........

I am a bit lost at the moment.

I have just downloaded the ps 6.0.1 update/patch.

try that. it might work ??

No dice. I have had 6.0.1 for about 10 days now. It only works for the current window. Still have NO way to set *details* as the default.

Life is hard.
