File DSN

Hello to GURU's up there!

I have written a application ( using PYTHON program ) which access the SQL SERVER database using File DSN. And we have more than 1000 users to use that application. I dont want to create a 1000 logins either in SQL SERVER or in WINDOWS SERVER which hosts the sql serever.

What's the best way of creating a file DSN at the user end so that application can connect to the sql server?

Can some one help me out to create a batch file to run at the user end to create the file dsn?

You might explore creating and using an application role. That might be a bit simpler for what you are trying to do. --------------
