File allready open problem....

I have recently installed windows 2000 onto a machine it is also running office 97.
The problem that I am having is when I open a document I get a messagea saying;

A document with that name is already open. You cannot open two documents with the same name.

This happens on all ocassions but there is no other document open.

Has anyone come accross this before.

Has the user you are logging in with got Administrator Rights, that sounds like a permission Issue.

You Might also want to check the permissions of the folder where youe files are stored

right click folder
Left click properties
Click security tab and check user has permission Full Control.

Run the commandline(s)
excel /regserver
and/or
winword /regserver
according to the application(s) in problem.
