I have inherited an opt61 with all of the left slots of superloops have something occupying them.I am fiber expanding two IPE's. does this card need its own 4 network slots?? I have 2 of these cards and I just used one on SUPL 4 left side. I tried to setup the second card on the right side of SUPL 4. I am at a loss. If I am stuck then what is the wise step in expanding this switch? opt81??

Wow.. you need to stop there.. If all the left slot has something. Time to find out what's in there. Fiber IPE use same Superloop as regular ipe. Find a empty superloop in the system, if not, time to upgrade to 81c.

prt your cequ and post it, we might be able to help if we can get a rough idea of how things are laid out.

I do have a qpc720 pri card that is using 2 slots and the right side of the card is in the first slot of SUPL28. That pri actually is defined as loop 19 because of the Enet card it has to use is in slot 19. Can I replace that pri(both cards)with a dual pri card and be able to still make the dual card work as pri 19 in the Enet's old slot?if I can do that then SUPL28 would be open in both slots as well

I think the sup; card takes all 4 addresses in the supl slots. If you can move the T1 card and vacate both of the supl slots you can use your fiber card there

here is my printout . I need more help. is there another way to make it work? could someone explain how to make 2 shelves on a superloop ex}12-0-0-0 and 12-1-0-0 and is that an option for me?

Hi Adam,
Using 12-1 could be an option for you. Please note that you halve the number of time slots to your super loop. At the moment super loop 12-0 has 120 time slots. It you enable 12-1 they will each have 60 time slots.
You use the top connector the super loop card in the network shelf to cable to your new IPE. The bottom connector will already be cabled off to 12-0.
Print out your super loops as a reference.Then:
Make a new XPE
then
LD 97
req chg
type supl
supl 12
xpe1 x y z
where
x = Controller number (1-95) for superloop's shelf 1
y = starting shelf segment number (0-3)
z = ending shelf segment number (0-3)

But, i am doing a off-premise fiber expansion so i can't cable it out like that can I?

I have SUPL 4-0 just being used on the left side as a "Fiber Superloop Network Card NT1P61CA " going to one cabinet. I wouldn't be able to somehow make the right slot SUPL 4-1 could I?

I believe you are correct,you will need to remove the NT8D04 card out of slot 12 to install your fiber card then 12-0 would not work. You will need to open a slot somehow. Can you do a card inventory in ld 117 and show it so I can see what is in each slot? Maybe move an msdl or the qpc720 card. Tose only require backplane power but not a slot address.

Looks to me you have room but may need to move a few things around.

Loop 2/3 are not used and if you moved PRIs 8 and 9 to 2 and 3 8 would be available for supperloop.

Also, 28/29 30/31 are listed under DTIC. They would be listed there if there is a QPC729 taking up those slots. 720s do not physically take time slots. you could do 1 of 2 things- would recommend 1st.
1 - replace 720s and asscoiated e-net card with a DDP NT5d12, then you could use loop 28 for superloop.
2 - move superloops 20 to left slot(I think you said all superloops were on right). now you have 2 slots inbetween loop 20 and 24 the the 720 could be moved to.

Just call your vendor for help on this one. You are probably going to be reloading the switch and not on purpose.
