Why is it when the secondary or primary fiberlink to a V-LAN switch fails the VoIP members of the the same V-LAN cannot hear VoIP callers from outside the V-LAN?

Hey,

Is it possible that the route for the return is incorrect due to the failover?

I'm not sure...This only happens when either the primary or secondary fiber link fail. We used believed that the seconday fiber link is just a redundant path for failover. Obviously it's more than just a redundant path.

what technologies are you using for redundancy? is the loss in the same direction if the primary or secondary fails? or is it different - initial thoughts are data in way way out the other! ? I take it they are IPT phones ? or is it Voip through a Gateway?

Can you post relevant configs?
