Hi Again,

Can anyone explain what this feature does when turned on? Does it mean, any virtual extension will be treated as physical extension? I have a problem with manipulating CLI using virtual extensions and I'm hoping this feature will cure my problem..

A virtual station is aa station that can be used like an x port station only it doesn't take an RTU.

Thanks Colby, Apart from using the EC500 feature, is there any way other way for the PBX to be administered so that Caller ID can be manipulated for exported extensions?
I have a PBX where the users use mobile phones for 5 digit calling and the call processing is done by the PBX however I cannot manipulate the CLI on the ISDN numbering plan because the PBX does not recognse the associated 5 digit of that said mobile as a physical extension? confused?? I am...

Hmmm I think you lost me after you said after is there a way....

When you say mobile phones do you mean DECT or wireless IP phones and not cell phones? And are you using UDP or AAR ro route calls to the mobiles?

when I say Mobile phones I mean cell phones, not DECT or wireless IP. So the users are dialling 5 digit office extensions from their cell phones, the provider then recognises the cell number and tags it with the appropriate 5 digit which comes into the PBX on a dedicated GSM trunk, the call is then routed appropriately via the ARS or UDP ( depending on whether it is an outgoing local/cell number or 5 digit) usually UDP for 5 digit and ARS for cell and local numbers. However the CLI for the 5 digit can not be manipulated because it is not a physical port assigned extension within the PBX and therefore it does not look at the public ISDN numbering plan to sort this out. Its a real complicated setup and I just need to know whether the EC500 option will cure this? or if the station set as virtual will help at all?
P.S a fixed phone extension within the office sends the caller ID no problem.
