Has anyone had any issues with feature delay ie pick up, transfer and found it due to processors performance?
This has increased as we roll more phones out. We only have 1500 registered in the cluster (3 cm's) and I thought the CM's were ok for about 2k each?

The number of device units supported are tied to the hardware platform. An MCS7835 will support more than an MCS7825. Remember that Device Units aren't just phones, Gateways plus many other things take away from your DU budget. Also types of phones affect what DU's they need. A 7961 takes more DU than a 7911.

as pndscm said make sure you are not overloading your call manager servers. This would also cause delayed dial tone when you pick up the handset, delay in answering a call, phones unregistering and registering again for no apparent reason, etc.

If you are only experiencing what you mentioned it could very well be a firmware issue on the phones themselves. I have seen that a lot. So you might want to upgrade or downgrade the phone load on one of the phones affected and test.

If it is a performance issue you should be able to see that through performance monitor or RTMT.

I had this issue where the phones would freeze up for about 15-20 seconds. Disabled v-scan realtime and it has been fine ecer since.

Hope this helps.

Can you tell us more about your cluster? What types of servers do you have? Are you registering any phones to the publisher? That's something you want to avoid, if possible. It has enough to do.

Thanks for all of this, very much appreciated, I'll investigate along those line.

I'ce done a search and there are 20 phones registered to the Publisher - probably left from initial set up. Now all device pools/phones seek sub1/sub2 in our main building and sub2/sub1 in our other buildings with the idea being that once the roll out is completed the subs should have a comparable share.
The vast majority of the phones are 7911 (1100 of them) and their firmware is SCCP11.8-0-4SR2S.
The servers are HP/Compaq DL380. We are currently looking into getting new processors to see if this helps.

Can someone point me to a Device Unit table score table for hardware?
