fax transmission over ip trunk causes near end ip office to perform a cold start

This location has a scn within 5 locations. The main site has SIP base trunks that handle all voice calls for all locations. The voice calls are transmitted to all site through the IP trunks without any issues. One of there remote sites has a isdn/pri that handles there fax calls and local calls for that remote office. The fax calls are sent to other sites through the IP trunks. We have weeded out the provider as the issue. We took the PRI off line and made test calls. While out at the remote site we have made calls throughout the IP trunk to any voice station on the scn The remote IPO works fine. If we call any fax station on system 8 out of 10 times the site were testing from the IPO reboots. SSA shows it as a cold restart with out a abnormal termination. I'm working with the IT dept on monday, to look at there network. I'm just looking for a few idea to search there side. Can a IP trunk surge the IPO to restart.

FYI the control unit has been replace and different power sources also have been tried. we have done this because we did not see it as a fax issue till yesterday.

Sip and fax are not friends on ipo. Use fax to email service from sip provider.

Yea that is a trueisum. But the line that frazzles this ipo is an h232 trunk. It does not go over the sip trunks. They are looking for me to give them a direction to go in. I explain that if we cannot localize why this is happening we might have to analog trunks. But it was not a welcomed idea. So i keep pluging along looking for the answer

Is fax transport supoort ticked on all h323 lines?
This will use 2 VCM channels in each of the systems. Do you have enough VCM to do this?

Manager>help> fax relay may assist your fault fixing.

And use G.711
This is your only chance but for faxing i would also build sip trunk between those sites for faxing only.
Faxing over a SCN has always been trouble.
