I am trying to set up a voice mail box to hold faxes if when the machine is busy, and its driving me a little crazy. any assistance would be appreciated. I can get the fax to the box, but it stays there even is machine is not busy. Also, if I log into box, and try to tell it to print the fax, Audix tells me invalid ext on every ext I try.

If you can get a copy of message manager, that will make your life ALOT easier.

Is the box not set up as the VM box for the fax machine? check the number of rings the vm box is set up for and the fax is set up for, maybe the box is set for 2 rings, but the fax is set to 4 rings.

With MM you can set the fax to automatically print the fax as soon as it recieves it. also while you can send the fax to any fax extension, i might be easier to send it to a default location. seems like thats what we did. also isnt there an option to call the vm box from a fax and some provision to send call the number your calling from?

I am in process on getting Message Manger set up.
The box is set up as the VM for the fax, and I put a coverage path in to send busy/no answer to vm.

When I log into the VM box, I get an option to print automatically, but Audix then says Automatic printing cant be enabled until a default fax destination is specified. My problem is it does accept any ext I try to give it as a default destination. Is there someplace where you have to define these?

We did VERY little fax management via the phone. I know you can set it up via the phone, but MM makes it a snap.

Oooh, yeah, I was reading this thinking "man, I beat my head trying to figure out this damn remote printing, what was the problem!"

Here is the deal.

Go to "change sytem-parameters fax-options" look at "Fax Deliveries" if it is set to "allowed" then that means the number that the user wants it set to MUST be allowed in the allow list, if it is denied, then that means only numbers in the fax list are denied.

I am trying to figure where that list is that you have to change...having difficulty finding it....I will post again shortly!

CaNNaBis, you must be on a different version from me, I dont have list or add fax-dial strings. The docs I have for my 5.1 uses this command also, but if I do a help on list or add, no fax-dial-strings.......
Otherwise, your advice sounds good....Thx for the reply

Ah, OK, I am on Intuity Audix LX R1.1

I have made a few steps forward on this issue. I can get the mailbox to take the voice mail, and it accepts the number that I want it sent to, but then I get an undeliverable.....Still missing a step somewhere.
CaNNaBis, I found that if I set fax deliveries to Denied, and dont put anything in the deny list, all numbers are allowed.
