Fax Extension to Analog 4 or ATM16 1

Hello

Looking to set 2 Fax line son incoming PRI tried setting ICR to extension 501 aka ATM port 1 route does not go anywhere, VM PRO Answers that extension..thoughts?

Are you attempting to have a fax call come in on PRI and out on analog trunk? Like a trunk-to-trunk forward? A bit unusual... but you could have ICR aimed at phantom user that is forwarded out via the analog trunk. You'll need a shortcode to access the analog trunk - have user forwarded to shortcode plus telephone number of final destination.

We want the line to come in on the PRI

number 555-9480 to one of the analog ports for fax machine.

is the vm picking up right away and is it for the same extension that you use for the fax, if so then the ICR is correct and you have a faulty port or a fax machine that is shorting out the port. Then turn the Vm off for that user and unplug the port on the IPO and hook in your butt set. Call it, if it rings you are golden.

the voicemail answers but we want this line away from the voicemail on its own as a fax extension..

You say you have the fax on ATM port 1? an ATM module is an Analog Trunk Module, not an analog station module.

It needs to be plugged in to a Phone 8 or 16 module, or depending on what type of processor youre using, one of the two POTS ports on the front of a 406, or you'll need a phone 2 or phone 8 expansion module to go in one of the slots on an IP500

voicemail answers the incoming fax numbers...i need to redirect

The modules we have are
IP412
DCP30
DCP30
DCP16
ATM16

i was told that we may need a Phone 8 module for this to work is that correct?

you dont have any alog extn ports, you need a phone 8

ATM is for incoming trunks not extns

Sorry to say this dude, but you should not be installing or selling these things, this is the pure basic knowledge of equipment.
