i am trying to open htm file using mx.but it closes saying dreamweaver encountered fatal exception.dreamweaver will now terminate.how could be the reason for this.

thank you

there are hundreds of reasons -- hows your RAM? Processor? what Operating System? Could be an issue with another program you have installed? How old is your computer? do you have a virus? is your cpu plugged in? your registry could be corrupt?

the point is unless someone who is a software and hardware specialist tests a whole lot of stuff the problem could be complex or simple. try reformatting first.

1st re-install Dreamweaver...then download appropritate verion of Update

it could be the file association with DW....
as darry said...who knows

If it's just one file that your having the problem with, then there is probably something in the code that DW dosen't like. Maybe a bit of Javascript or something and it's making it through a wobbly. But it's hard to tell what it could be. Try opening it in Frontpage, Word or something similar, save it again, then open it in Dreamweaver.
