Fatal Exception in Win98

First time poster. I am a computer tech in San Diego. The problem I am having is on a Dell GX1. I am getting a Fatal Exception 0D at 0327:00002CD2 whenever I shutdown Windows 98. I have no programs running at the time of shutdown. What could this be, when I hit a key on the blue screen to go on it goes to a black screen with grey dots covering it. Little help please.

Howdy:

Go into Msconfig and check the Disable Fast Shutdown option

I tried disabling fast shutdown and that did not resolve the issue. It still occurs when I shut down the PC. So I am still lost on this one. Thanks.

what happens if you boot into safemode then shutdown..do you still get the BSOD?
