Fatal Exception error OE occurred at 0028:

This usually happens when the computer is running MS Word. It happens alot when attempting to print out of Word. It also happens when using MS Excel. OS is Win 98. MS OFFice 2000.
I am help/desk Tech Support and this is an outlying office of ours. The Exact error is Fatal Exception error OE has Occurred at 0028:C18BB508 in VXD LPT (03) = 00000828. However, the computer operator says that the last part of the message was different from previous Fatal Exception errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have searched the Internet with no results. Did check the computer to make sure that LPT 3 was not captured. Thanks, Rex

Overwrite the lpt.vxd file in C:\Windows \System using 'System File Checker' and the Windows 98 installation CD.

If that does not help, then uninstall and reinstall MS Office and any other software that causes the error to appear.

Some other suggestions if the other one doesn't fix it.
Try a Repair on Microsoft Office using the installation CD.
Check the computer for spyware and adware using Spybot and Ad-aware programs. I always recommend running a free online antivirus check as well like

I would also recommend running a Scan and Defrag on the computer.
