FastEthernet0 - Linksys AP

We just bought an office. Went over there to check it out and they have about a dozen computers all connected wirelessly to a Linksys WRT54G that is connected to DSL for internet access. I looked at the WRT54G briefly to see if I could set it up as an access point but don't see where I can do that.

What I'd like to do is take a 1750 I have that has a WIC-1ENET card, hook up the access point to the FastEthernet0 port on the back and then hook the existing DSL modem into the the WIC-1ENET card so that I can establish a VPN back here to our central office.

Should I be able to do so? I've been trying to figure out if the WIC-ENET or FE0 would require a crossover cable to work but haven't been able to dig it up.

this is similar to how I have mine setup, you dont need a crossover as the wrt54g is autosense, so a straight trough works fine.
On a side note with the wrt54g if you dig around on the net there is some very powerfull firmware out there for it. I use mine with seavasoft firmware

also makesure if you intend to use your 1750 for vpn that its running the relevant firmware, failing this the linksys with the custom firmware also supports VPN.

Awesome! So the wrt54g does have an access point mode? I want the 1750 to do the DHCP.
